Environmental requirements

In order to preserve the environment and protect natural resources, legal environmental requirements have been provided for all investors.

The investor must respect the environment during the creation and throughout the development of his project.

I/Units subject to the environmental impact study :

An environmental impact study is required for the performance of certain investment
projects.

The environmental impact study assesses, evaluates and measures the direct and indirect effects in the short, medium and long term on the environment.

It must be prepared by consulting firms or experts specialized in the field and must be presented to the National Agency for Environmental Protection (ANPE) for opinion before obtaining any administrative authorization for the implementation of the project.

The activities subject to the environmental impact study are set out in Schedule 1 of Decree No. 1991 -2005 of 11 July 2005.

II/ Units subject to specifications relating to environmental measures:

Certain industrial and service activities are subject to specifications relating to environmental measures. These activities are set out in Schedule 2 of Decree No. 1991 -2005 of 11 July 2005.

The specifications must be submitted to the National Agency for Environmental Protection (ANPE) before obtaining any administrative authorizations for the implementation of the project.
